Manitoulin Quality Policy
Manitoulin Transport, as a transportation solutions provider, is committed to meeting or exceeding our
customer's requirements. We ensure continuous improvement through the establishment, measurement, and on
going review of our quality objectives.
At Manitoulin Transport, we have a long history of quality initiatives designed to improve
customer satisfaction. Everyone at Manitoulin Transport understands their role in the
Manitoulin Quality System and it's emphasis on continual improvement. Training takes place
initially through the company orientation program, and then through ongoing training based
on procedures manuals developed for all key operations activities.
There's an old quality saying, "If you can't measure it, you can't manage it". All aspects of
our operations, including on time performance, linehaul departure and arrival times and damage
frequency are measured and tracked to confirm compliance with our rigorous standards. Each
terminal in our system takes pride in contributing to our goal of continuously improving both
our operating performance and the level of service we provide our customers. We then make that
data available to our customers through MT
Direct. We're proud of our measurement systems and want our customers to measure us by the
same exacting standards.
On December 12, 1997 Manitoulin Transport's Quality System was registered by the Quality
Management Institute of Mississauga, Ontario with the ISO 9001 series of standards - a date that
formalized a practice of quality improvement that Manitoulin has practiced for many years.
