- How do I request an MT Direct Account?
Getting access to MT Direct is as easy as 1, 2 3....

- What is MT Direct all about?
MT Direct is Manitoulin Transport's custom menu system.
A superior level of customer service, MT Direct provides you with
critical, time sensitive information to help you manage your freight
requirements more cost effectively and more productively. Free and easy
access to a password protected portal that displays only the features of
Manitoulin Transport's web site that you can use for your business. MT Direct
gives you and your company control over how you use the features we provide. Click

- Who do I contact if my MT Direct password has expired?
Password protection ensures that only those people that you
authorize have access to your company's confidential information. It is for
this reason that passwords to MT Direct automatically expire every 6 months.
Our webmaster will be happy to re-enable your account for you if you pass the
password expiration date without entering a new password.
Call us at (705) 844-1789, or e-mail the webmaster
and include your username.
- I forgot my username & password for MT Direct, how do I
find out what it was?
Our webmaster will be able to assist you with this. You may
be required to answer a couple of questions to verify that you are authorized
to use your company's account. Call us at (705) 844-1789, or e-mail the webmaster.
- Why does my MT Direct password expire?
Password protection ensures that only those people that you
authorize have access to your company's confidential information. It is for
this reason that passwords to MT Direct automatically expire every 6 months.
Commencing ten days (10) before your password expires, you will be prompted
to change it every time you sign in, until you have changed your password.
- If there is more than one person in our company that
needs access to MT Direct should they have their own username?
Yes, each person in your company who requires access to MT
Direct must have their own username and password. This ensures the user has
access only to those features the primary user designates and protects the
confidentiality of the company data. To request an account, call us at (705)
844-1789, complete our on-line
form, or e-mail our webmaster.
- Our company has more than one account number, do we
need to set up MT Direct access for each account?
Yes, when you request an MT Direct account online, please
ensure each of your account numbers is indicated in the online form. Or
contact our webmaster
at any time to request additional accounts be added to your MT Direct access.

| TRACKING AND TRACING |
- Why is my probill number not found?
a - Check to make sure that you are not entering the probill
number into the tracing screen for a Bill of Lading or PO number.
b - You may not be using a customer number that is associated with that
probill number or with your MT Direct Account. If you are an MT Direct user,
you will have to request that the account number be setup on your MT Direct
account through the webmaster.
c - If you are using our public access tracing, verify that you are
using the correct account number.
- Why is my Bill of Lading number not found?
a - Check to make sure that you are not entering the BOL
number into the tracing screen for a probill number.
b - You may not be using a customer number that is associated with that
probill number or with your MT Direct Account. If you are an MT Direct user,
you will have to request that the account number be setup on your MT Direct
account through the webmaster.
c - If you are using our public access tracing, verify that you are using the
correct account number.
- Why do I get the error "customer number can not view
probill number"?
This error occurs when the customer number you are using is
not associated with the probill number that you are tracing. If you are an MT
Direct user, you will have to request that the account number be setup for you
through the webmaster.
Or, if you are using our public access tracing, verify that you are using the
correct account number.
- Can I get freight charges online?
Yes. However, this feature is only available through MT
Direct. To request access to MT Direct, click

- Where can I find out what the Delivery Codes on my
reports mean?

| BILLS OF LADING AND PROOF OF
DELIVERY |
- Is it possible to view images of BOL's and POD's?
Yes, you can view and print images of your Bills of Lading
and Proof of Delivery. In order to view them, you must first install the IBM
AFP Viewer Plug-in. Click Here, to
download the viewer.
- I can't view the BOL &/or POD images, why not?
If you are trying to view images of BOL's and POD's, and you
are getting an error message, chances are that you do not have the IBM AFP
Viewer Plug-in installed. Click Here, to
download the viewer and follow the download
instructions.
- How do I download the IBM AFP Viewer?
Click Here, to download
the IBM AFP Viewer.
- When I print a copy of a BOL the page is blank, why?
This is because you are using your browser's print function.
You need to use the action bar provided with the browser plug-in. This
action bar is located under the address bar on your browser. The print button
is the second last button.
- When I print images of a BOL or POD it prints as a
negative image, why?
If you are getting a page with black background and white
writing (negative image), this indicates that you need to upgrade the version
of the printer driver for your printer. This is a common issue when using the
Microsoft printer driver, especially for Hewlett Packard printers. The
manufacturer's web site will contain the information you need to download and
install the newest version of the printer driver.

- Where do I get a Bill of Lading Form?
You can download, view, and print a Bill of Lading from our
web site, Click Here. We provide both a
printable and fill form version of the Bill of Lading. As well, our drivers
carry a supply of Bills of Lading with them.
- How do I download the BOL Generator?
The BOL Generator is a custom database program designed to
provide you with ability to create complete and correct Bills of Lading for
all of your customers - automatically. This download is available only
through MT Direct. To register to MT Direct, click
here.
- Where can I find out the terms of the Bill of Lading?
The terms are on the back of a bill of lading. You can also
view the terms here.

1-800-265-1485 ext 82300 to speak with our One Shot Rates Department.
- Do I need an account to request a rate quote?
No, you can request a rate quote with or without a Manitoulin
customer account number. However, if you are a Manitoulin customer, your
online rate quote will include your negotiated Manitoulin rates.
- Should I include my quote number on my Bill of Lading?
Yes, always include your Manitoulin quote number on the Bill
of Lading for ease of processing.

- Can I request a pickup with Manitoulin via the
internet?
Yes, we provide a convenient On-Line Pickup Entry. Click

- Do I need an MT Direct account?
No, you are not required to have an MT Direct account to
request a pickup.
- Do I need a customer account?
No, you are not required to have a customer account to
request a pickup.
- How do I know when my shipment will be delivered?
You can use our Transit
Times Calculator to determine when your shipment will be delivered.
Simply enter the City/Province combination or use Postal Code to Postal Code
to receive number of days and delivery by specific week day.

| INTERLINES |
- I am an interline partner. How do I trace a shipment
and get images of BOL's and POD's?
In order for you to trace a shipment, you require a
customized MT Direct Account. Click
here to register. Please make sure to indicate your SCAC code in the
customer number entry box. When you receive confirmation that your MT Direct
setup is complete, you can then follow the directions
to download and install the IBM AFP Viewer. Once the viewer is installed, you
will be able to trace a shipment and view images of BOL's and POD's.
- Can I update the delivery status of a shipment?
Yes, interline carriers can update final delivery status of
shipments online through their MT Direct access.
- Can I search for customer specific Customs Brokers?
Yes, interline carriers can search for customer Customs
Brokers instead of having to call Customer Service. This is only available in
MT Direct.
